NaruTen: Figure Skating Fun (Close-up)(V2)

Out of all the Winter Olympic sports, I personally love figure skating the most. Seeing men and women gracefully skating around the rink, doing these athelic moves that regular people can not even do. The figure skating pairs are my favorite of the three categories, given the couples are like dancing around the rink and even doing moves that the singles can not do, like the guy tossing the girl into the air as she spins. I know figure skating is not easy, for it takes years of training to even get good enough to compete in the Winter Olympics. I certainly admire all those to even get qualify to compete, given they would not have gotten qualify if they did not have the skills to enter.

This is why I commissioned this Naruto/Tenten scene of them being a figure skating pair, doing a move as they skate around the ice rink while having fun doing it. This is the first time I had commissioned a NaruTen art of them as figure skaters. I had done a couple of commissions showing them just regular skating outdoors in winter clothing, but not together as figure skaters. I really love the idea of Naruto and Tenten as a figure skating pair.

Yet I want to say that this commission has been five years in the making. Back in 2012, I originally gave this commission idea to tenchufreak, who at the time was a popular DevinatArt artist and was consider trustworthy by many to do commissions, including me. Yet suddenly she dropped out and stopped doing commissions. The last time she was heard from was in 2013 when she did a journal saying she will do the commissions on her backlog, yet ever since then she did not kept her promise, thus many people were left with no commissions and money lost. I do not know what had happened to Tenchu over these years, yet it's sad IMO for a great trusted artist to drop out, leaving many people with no commissions.

So knowing Tenchu was not ever going to do my NaruTen commission, I last year decided to hand over the commission idea to dannex009. He too have a huge following and seems trustworthy by the masses to do commissions. He have a very long commission list, yet he always come through to do them. So I placed myself on the list last year in February, and just recently, it was my turn for Dannex to do my commission. Dannex did a great job, as anyone can see here. From the information and references I gave him, Dannex was able to complete this commission in two days, and I say I really love the results. Naruto and Tenten look marvelous in their figure skating outfits. Naruto's is based off his Sage Mode coat, while Tenten's is based off her Shippuuden kunoichi outfit. Tenten's red skirt even have black flames to match Naruto's shirt, thus making Naruto and Tenten match somewhat. Over all, I really love how the entire scene came out, showing them having fun as they skate together.

So yes, this scene, of Naruto and Tenten as a figure skating pair, is a commission done for me by the talented !

Now from the title, anyone should know that this is Version 2 of this scene. Where's Versions 1? On dannex009's page. When he first presented me the finished commission, it was Version 1, showing wave lines and Tenten's blur foot to indicate action movement of the characters. I like it, yet I had asked Dannex a favor to make a Version 2, taking out the wave lines and blur, just showing Naruto and Tenten as they are without any action effects. Well, Dannex posted Version 1 in his gallery, so I told myself I might as well place Version 2 in my gallery. If anyone wants to see Version 1, you can do so by clicking on the thumbnail below which will take you to Dannex's gallery. Both versions are the same size, thus one is not bigger or smaller than the other.



So there you have it! Naruto and Tenten having fun as they skate around an ice rink as a figure skating pair! As a Tenten fan, I really love Tenten's figure skating outfit here. She looks great in it!
