NaruTen: Riding the Skies Entwined

This art of Naruto and Tenten, riding together on a skyboard, was cropped from a commission done for me by the talented !

After seeing her wonderful Naruto art, I'd asked DaiKai is she can draw Naruto and Tenten riding a skyboard together. After giving her references, Dai drew this wonderful art of the pair having some fun on a skyboard as they fly above Konoha. Tenten is having fun yet still somewhat nervous, given she had not ever flew so high above the ground. Yet Naruto is there for her to prevent her from not falling off the board. Now only Naruto stop doing stunts and just fly the board straight for the sake of the girl in his arms.

The idea for this scene comes from a combination of two things.... The anime series Eureka 7 which have skyboards, and a Naruto fanfic where Naruto does not join the Konoha shinobi forces yet his tinkering with fuuinjutsu helps him create a skyboard he uses to fly around to many places. So loving the idea of Naruto having a skyboard, I just can't help but want to commish an art of Naruto taking Tenten for a ride on a skyboard.

Oh, for anyone's information, the board in this art runs on chakra through fuuinjutsu seals, much like in this fanfic I read. Seals under the board provide lift, while the rocket seal provide thrust. Given all the flying stuff they have in the Naruto world, such a skyboard concept wouldn't be far stretch to conceive.

So there you have it! Naruto and Tenten riding together in the skies above Konoha on a skyboard! I originally had thought of titling this art "Flying High on the Wings of Love," but I figured it would be too corny to use that song as a title, especially given Tenten currently looks like romance is far from the top of her mind.
